Obviously I’m really disappointed with a 23rd place finish. The No. 83 NovoLog FlexPen Chevrolet was really good all weekend–the Chip Ganassi Racing cars are always good here at Mid-Ohio. I had really hoped to repeat the performance of 2013 and be in victory lane, but we just kept getting run into today. A lot of the things that we could control we did well, but there were a lot more things that we couldn’t control and didn’t go our way. It’s unfortunate, but that’s the great thing about the Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing team–we’re really resilient. We’ll dig in and bounce back for the 500-mile race in Pocono, and then finish out the season strong with double points on the ‘Best Coast.’

Wow, the No. 83 NovoLog FlexPen Chevrolet was just fast today! The team worked really hard to consistently make the car better after each session we had this weekend. It obviously doesn’t hurt to have Scott to learn from here at Mid-Ohio. He’s so good here and his data has been really helpful. It’s nice to see a couple of Chip Ganassi Racing Team cars up front in the top 10. It was great to finally be back in the Firestone Fast 6… now we’ll just work hard tomorrow to have a clean start and make some moves up front!

Thanks to all of the fans who are out here at Mid-Ohio this weekend! Truly appreciate the support!

Good morning… and happy first day of August! It’s another sunny day here at Mid-Ohio–fingers crossed, it will stay this way for the rest of the weekend!

I think we made some progress last night after the second session, looking at our data and our teammates’ data. We have one more practice session this morning before qualifying so we’ll try to put it all together today.

Reminder: qualifying is live on NBC Sports Network today at 3 p.m. Eastern! If you aren’t here, you’re missing out… check out these shots from yesterday’s sessions, thanks to the awesome IndyCar photogs. More here!

We covered a lot of things in both practice sessions today. I think we found some stuff that worked and some stuff that would take us in the wrong direction. We’ll put it all together and make the car better overnight. I think on older tires we’re really competitive, but we’re still just searching for good lap times on newer tires. We’ll figure it out and we’ll be better tomorrow.

Don’t forget to stop by the INDYCAR Fan Village tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. to say hi to me and my Chip Ganassi Racing teammates!

Good morning! It’s another beautiful day here at Mid-Ohio. I’m about to head to the drivers meeting before the first on-track session of the weekend. Be sure to follow @RaceWithInsulin for updates from my Pit Lane Reporter!

For now, here are a few thoughts on the course from me and my Verizon IndyCar Series competitors…

I can’t wait to get to get on track here at Mid-Ohio this weekend! The Chip Ganassi Racing team as a whole is always competitive, but the course is so challenging you just never know what to expect. We’ll be focusing a lot on our qualifying; we didn’t start up where we wanted to last year but managed a top-10 finish with smart strategy and quick work in the pits. With a better grid position and some time studying the tricky corners, I think the No. 83 NovoLog FlexPen Chevrolet will be in a good position for a strong result.

I’m headed into engineering for a while before the track walk at 3. Click here for the full race weekend schedule and tune-in info. It looks like it will be a beautiful weekend–hope to see lots of you out here!
