Nearly a decade after their last race, the IndyCar Series is returning to Road America.

“Drivers deep down, kind of like an Indy, they want to make the most of this place,” IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon said. “It means a lot inside.”

This week, 10 of the sports best drivers and their teams are back on the track, getting a taste before next June’s Grand Prix.

“Great to be back; back at this track where we belong,” IRL driver Simon Pagenaud said. “Hope we put on a good show, it’s always a good show here.”

The four mile track at Elkhart Lake unlike any other on the 2016 schedule. The course is essentially twice as long and infinitely more circuitous.

“Forgot how long corners and straights are, it was really fast,” IRL driver Charlie Kimball said. “You can feel the speed at the end of every straight.”
