They emerged from the tunnel onto a smoke-filled practice field at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center. IndyCar drivers, members of the media, representatives of the Colts, former players, a cheerleader, a mascot, and two puppies.

On Tuesday, a week before the start of the NFL Combine, the Colts held their second annual 40-yard Dash Challenge. They did it for fun last year and got great feedback from fans. This year, it was still for fun – but with some added competition.

“So, we have two teams this year and they’re captained by two of our alumni, David Thornton and Gary Brackett. The teams are actually going to be competing against each other in order to have donations made to our two charities, which are the YMCA (of Greater Indianapolis) and JumpIN,” said Colts director of marketing Stephanie Pemberton.
