IN CK’S WORDS
“It was quite an exciting day for the first race, for sure. The No. 83 Novo Nordisk Race With Insulin Chevrolet car was really quick in clean air and I had the opportunity to use it. Unfortunately we had a couple of mechanical problems that crept in during the last third of the race, but I’m happy to escape with a top-10 today. The team rebounded really well. The guys were awesome on pit stops; in-and-out, super clean. A lot credit goes to the Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing team today. We’ll just figure it out and come back stronger.”

SATURDAY, MARCH 12
RESULTS
Practice 3: P13,1:01.413
Qualifying: P14,1:01.043
IN CK’S WORDS
“It was disappointing to not transfer through to the Firestone Fast 6 – it’s just so competitive here in the Verizon IndyCar Series. The No. 83 Novo Nordisk Chevrolet was good; we just didn’t quite get it done. We’ll bounce back and get it ready for tomorrow. I think we have a little bit to learn over night from Scott and the Target team – he did a great job getting into the Firestone Fast 6. We’ll learn from what he was able to do and develop a strategy and be ready to go racing tomorrow.”

FRIDAY, MARCH 11
RESULTS
Practice 1: P9, best lap time 1:02.147
Practice 2: P19, best lap time 1:01.738
IN CK’S WORDS
“Obviously in practice two we didn’t quite get the result we wanted. We’re making the car better and learning what the new Team Chevy aero kit needs mechanically and aerodynamically. The track was definitely starting to rubber in and I think tomorrow could be really quick depending on what the weather does. I’m excited to figure out what changes we need to make the car better and be ready to qualify tomorrow.”
