Every race day starts the same for IndyCar driver Charlie Kimball. Breakfast consists of a couple of eggs, a piece of toast, a cup a coffee, a few glasses of water and some fruit. Then he takes his insulin.

Later on he’ll have his pregame meal – plain grilled chicken breast, white rice, fruit and more water. All the while he’s checking his blood pressure to make sure everything is at the right levels. He’s the only licensed diabetic IndyCar driver in history, but he can’t let that get in his way.

“I see how my body reacts to that meal so that when I get in the car, all I’m thinking about is the race ahead,” Kimball said.
