IN CK’S WORDS
“Overall a really solid day for the Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing team. We had really good pace and really good fuel mileage on the first two stints. That third stint, I don’t think I managed the Firestone alternates as well as some of the guys around me. You saw that with the 12 car with a better in and out lap. That was disappointing because I think we could have maybe had a shot at a top five. Overall, though, to fight off some competitors for that last stint after the final yellow felt good, and it felt good to bring it home in sixth for the guys. Kind of a semi-trouble free weekend and pretty happy with it. Big congrats to the NTT DATA team and the 9 car. What a way to celebrate Mike Hull’s 25th anniversary with the team and get Honda and Chip Ganassi Racing their first win after coming back together this season.”

SATURDAY, JUNE 24
RESULTS
Practice 3: P11, 1:43.212
Qualifying: P10, 1:43.3221

IN CK’S WORDS
“I think we were a little happier with the car in the first qualifying round than we were in the second round, actually. We just missed it a little bit. I went off on the primary tires at the beginning of the run, so I don’t know if that bent something on the car or if there was something else going on. We’ll go back and look at it. Obviously good job for Max [Chilton], he was so close, and Scott’s been fast all weekend. We have their data to go back and look at tonight to see what direction we need to go. We’ll make some improvements and try to figure out how to make the mileage, make the tires, and make the lap times.”

FRIDAY, JUNE 23
RESULTS
Practice 1: P12, 1:44.4748
Practice 2: P10, 1:43.7931

IN CK’S WORDS
“Today was a solid day; not a good day or a great day for the Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing team. We need to find a little more lap time. A tenth quicker would put us inside the top-six, which is our goal for tomorrow–to make the Firestone Fast Six during qualifying. So we need to look at what we’ve got compared to our teammates and figure out how we can be better heading into Saturday morning’s practice. We’ve got a couple sets of tires to get ready for qualifying, then we’ll try to find some lap time to get inside the top-six in the afternoon.”
