IN CK’S WORDS
“We just really struggled with the balance all day. The car was on a knife edge and I wasn’t confident enough in the car to really make the most out of it when we had clear track. We fought traffic a lot, but that’s what happens when you qualify mid-pack. Really a frustrating day. The bright spot was definitely the guys in pit lane. They work so hard day in and day out. I’m glad they’ll be getting a couple of weekends off now moving forward. I hope they can relax and get some time with their families, because when we come back to Pocono we’re going to be hungrier than ever.”

SATURDAY, JULY 29
RESULTS
Practice 3: P12, 1:04.8202
Qualifying: P13, 1:04.9930

IN CK’S WORDS
“Pretty disappointed with qualifying, honestly. We made some big improvements this morning and then we seemed to lose our way a little bit this afternoon. We were within about three hundredths off transferring through to the top 12, which would’ve given us another shot to make the car better. I know there’s more in it for tomorrow, but we missed it a little bit, I missed it a little bit. The nice thing is that we have two sets of Firestone alternates, sticker alternates, plus the scrubbed set from qualifying to use tomorrow. We just need a little bit of strategy and I think we’ll have every opportunity to finish up front.”

FRIDAY, JULY 28
RESULTS
Practice 1: P18, 1:05.7952
Practice 2: P15, 1:05.2065

IN CK’S WORDS
“Overall it wasn’t a good day at all for the No. 83 car. We missed the setup a little bit and we missed the timing. We really could’ve used that little bit of track time we lost this afternoon with the rain to get the car a little better. The nice thing is that the 9 car is quick, so we’ll have their data to learn from. I’m really encouraged by the stops in pit stop practice – the guys really crushed it today. We’ll carry that momentum forward to figure out what we need to do to qualify well tomorrow and finish up front on Sunday.”
