“First off, my thoughts and prayers are with Robert. I really hope he’s okay and recovers quickly, because he’s been a huge addition to the series this year. Overall, the No. 23 Novo Nordisk Chevrolet just fought all day. The guys did a great job on pit lane and they got me two positions on that last stop. I’m really proud of the effort the whole team has put in this weekend, especially with only running one hour worth of practice and going straight into qualifying and 500 miles with tough weather conditions. They gave me a car that was really solid to start with, and we were able to bring home another top-10 for the team. We had a really good test at Gateway a few weeks ago, so I’m excited to get back out there next weekend and hopefully bring home another good result.”

Practice 1: P15, 213.457 mph
Qualifying: P19, 211.919 mph
Practice 2: Cancelled due to rain

“We didn’t get the chance to test here until this morning’s practice session, so we were really just trying to get on the same level as everyone else in a short period of time. Overall the balance was great and the No. 23 Novo Nordisk Chevrolet has been rock solid since we unloaded, so I feel good about the Carlin team heading into tomorrow. If we get the opportunity to practice this afternoon, we’ll be even better. We ran pretty well in Indy, as well as in Texas with a top-10 finish that we were pretty happy with, so I think we’ll be pretty quick tomorrow. The good thing about this race is that we’ll have 500 miles to figure it out.”
