IN CK’S WORDS
“I feel like the No. 83 Tresiba® Chevrolet recovered really well. Everyone on Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing team was disappointed with qualifying yesterday, but we rolled the dice on strategy today and we were really hoping for a yellow at some point to make the strategy a little healthier. I can’t say I’m happy with an 11th-place finish, but I know we were fast enough to be in the top five and it’s a good recovery after our qualifying yesterday. We’ll carry this momentum into Barber on Friday and Saturday to try to qualify up front and ultimately race up front on Sunday, especially after proving that once we’re racing strong, we can stay strong.”

SATURDAY, APRIL 16
RESULTS
Practice 3: P12, 1:07.6187
Qualifying: P15, 1:07.8065

IN CK’S WORDS
“Frankly, I’m really disappointed with that. The track conditions caught me out; I wasn’t expecting it to be nearly as slippery as it was. We were within a tenth of transferring into group two and I think the lap time was there, but I didn’t quite get it done. The 83 car has been competitive, inside the top-10, all weekend. Tomorrow we’ll just have to conjure up some magic so we can get up to the front and stay there.”

FRIDAY, APRIL 15
RESULTS
Practice 1: P13, 1:09.0566
Practice 2: P12, 1:08.1989

IN CK’S WORDS
“In practice two we worked on some balance stuff trying to find a better combination for the car. I feel pretty good about the No. 83 Tresiba® Chevrolet – I think we’re in a good window. We need a little bit of lap time, but it’s just been so competitive today. I think I ended the second session 12th, but a tenth would’ve put me in seventh. We’re looking for a little more than that and we have a pretty good idea on how to make that happen heading into tomorrow morning. I’m confident that we’ll be strong coming out of tomorrow’s morning practice and heading into qualifying tomorrow afternoon.”
