IN CK’S WORDS
“Obviously not what we expected or wanted for the 83 car here in Toronto. I felt like we were behind the eight ball all weekend. We were making positive changes to the car, but we weren’t seeing the improvements on track during practice or qualifying. The race just didn’t play out for our strategy and we didn’t catch the yellow we needed. Regardless it was nice to have the Novo Nordisk Honda up front for a few laps. We’ll just refocus and head to Mid-Ohio where the 83 car has some good memories.”

SATURDAY, JULY 15
RESULTS
Practice 3: P18, 1:00.7340
Qualifying: P17, 00:59.9820
IN CK’S WORDS
“Honestly kind of a frustrating session. If we would’ve run that lap time in the second group, we would have advanced to the top 12 but instead we’re on the ninth row. It’s going to be a long day tomorrow. I think the Firestone alternates aren’t holding up quite as long as the Firestone primaries, so that’ll definitely play into what we do strategy-wise. We’ve got to work the strategy and take advantage of the opportunities that are in front of us. We’re making the car better, but we just didn’t find as much lap time as we were hoping to find.”

FRIDAY, JULY 14
RESULTS
Practice 1: P20, 1:02.8693
Practice 2: P18, 1:01.5214
IN CK’S WORDS
“Honestly we’re just struggling for lap time at the moment. The car’s not great, but we seem to make it better and not go a lot quicker. I’m pretty frustrated, but the nice thing is we’ve got Scott’s data to look at tonight. We’ll learn from that and make sure the No. 83 Novo Nordisk Honda is fast tomorrow.”
