Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing (NNCGR) driver Charlie Kimball finished 20th at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on the streets of St. Petersburg.
The NNCGR team saw difficulties ranging from mechanical issues to less than ideal track conditions throughout the weekend. The No. 83 NovoLog FlexPen car experienced a spin in the last turn of the 1.8-mile temporary street circuit during qualifying on Saturday afternoon, which would place Kimball in the 20th position in the starting lineup for the 110-lap race on Sunday.
