IN CK’S WORDS
“I’m just really proud of the Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing guys. We didn’t get the chance to test here, but we learned from the 9 car’s test. We made the car better and better from first thing yesterday afternoon through qualifying, even though we didn’t get the qualifying result we wanted. Through the race tonight, the car was actually pretty good and we just kept making it better. It was just tough racing. With the package like it was, it was really hard to close up and pass anyone, especially into the first turn. We took advantage of some momentum shifts, like when guys didn’t get great restarts. I’m really happy to come away with a seventh place finish tonight, especially here when we knew it might be a little bit compromised.”

IN CK’S WORDS
“The track is just constantly changing, even from this afternoon’s practice session to qualifying. With the new asphalt, the track is rubbering in almost every lap. The balance was pretty good on the No. 83 Tresiba Honda there in qualifying, so I was pretty happy with that. We just needed a little more speed that we couldn’t find. We’re right there with my teammate Tony (Kanaan), so we’ll just see where we shake out.”
