IN CK’S WORDS
“I’ve always said there’s no quit in this team. We just keep making progress and it’s nice to finally be able to have a result to show for it. It was awesome to see how hard the team worked to put together a good race car, and I can honestly say that the No. 23 Novo Nordisk Chevrolet was the best car I’d had around here. We got a little lucky with yellows, but we’ll take some luck with a new team building our foundation in INDYCAR. A lot of credit to the guys though – they’ve worked so hard since October to make this happen. A top-10 finish is a start, and hopefully moving forward we can qualify better so we don’t have to work so hard to get back into the top-10.”

SATURDAY, APRIL 14
RESULTS
Practice 3: P20, 1:08.0696
Qualifying: P23, 1:09.7481

IN CK’S WORDS
“I’m really disappointed, honestly, because we made such good progress this morning. I felt really good about the No. 23 Novo Nordisk Chevrolet after this morning’s session, but we just struggled to get any good lap times out of the tires and find any grip. We’ll go back and figure out what it needs for the race and dial up the strategy. There’s always something going on around here as far as yellows, strategies, and fuel, so I’m optimistic. Max did a really nice job in qualifying, so we’ll go back and compare our data to see where we need to be for tomorrow.”

FRIDAY, APRIL 13
RESULTS
Practice 1: P22, 1:10.001
Practice 2: P20, 1:10.1694

IN CK’S WORDS
“We worked through a lot of changes today. Max was pretty good this morning, so we went more his direction with the No. 23 Novo Nordisk Chevrolet. We had a couple of issues in the first practice, but we got those cleaned up for the second practice and introduced a few new issues in the second practice that we’ll need to fix overnight. We had a yellow flag on what was going to be my best lap early in the second session. We can learn from what we did today and get everything ready to go for qualifying tomorrow. I think the conditions tomorrow are going to be pretty similar to today and then cooler on race day, so we’ll just have to adjust best as we can and move forward from there.”
